Alfred Muszynski: United Nations Spiritualism with Call of Duty Characteristics
This painting is a study of the symbolisms associated with video game warfare, religion and international politics. I have found that new spiritualities and myths emerge from daily practices of playing through the Call of Duty or Battlefield franchises. I have developed some sensibilities toward the symbols and rituals that coexist with the running and gunning of these FPS. I also believe that war games and international politics are naturally interconnected through their symbolisms, every so often we can witness these two fields seeping into one another.
My process is split between traditional painting techniques, installation and digital art. The results are multi media collages meant to echo the lack of clear visual identity that is characteristic of our hyper mediated cultural landscape.
